Drop off & Parking | Event Transport | Drop off only is available at the main Te Puia entrance. There is carparking available in the southern Te Puia carpark accessible from the Hemo Roundabout. | A user pays bus service will be operated from outside the iSite on Fenton Street to Te Puia from 7.00am until 7.45am. The cost is $8.00. Bag drop service provided at start to take your gear back to the finish. |
Minimum Age | 10km entrants must be 14 years or older on race day to compete. |
Time Limit | Official event timing will cease at 5.00pm. Those crossing the finish line after this time will be deemed not to have finished and will not be eligible for the finisher's medal. |
Prize Giving | 11:00AM at the Lakefront Reserve |
Walkers | Walkers are welcome and encouraged to enter the 10KM. Please note that walkers will not be separated in the results, and there will be no individual prize category for walkers. |
Course Details
The 10KM event is an exhilarating combination of trail and road, starting at the world-famous Te Puia on Hemo Road. The opening stretch takes runners through geothermal pathways, passing the magnificent Pōhutu Geyser, before heading into Whakarewarewa Forest. From there, the course crosses Pohaturoa Road to Titokorangi Drive, then along a pedestrian walkway to Te Ngae Road, finishing lakeside outside the Novotel Rotorua. It’s a dynamic, scenic challenge that delivers the full Rotorua experience in just 10 kilometres.
