Children aged 5 to 14 can enter this event. Rotorua-based children can enter via their school or kura in term 1 2026. Individuals who are not part of a local school can enter at anytime via the Race Roster portal.

The Rotorua Mini Marathon is one of the biggest children’s running events in the region, staged the day before the Red Stag Rotorua Marathon. Each year, hundreds of tamariki from primary, intermediate schools and kura across Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty take part in this exciting community event.
It’s all about fun, fitness, and celebrating the joy of running — while giving kids the chance to experience the buzz of the original Rotorua Marathon weekend.
