Win a Trip to Spain to walk part of the famous Pilgrims’ Route, The Camino de Santiago!
Last year A Walker’s World gave away a walking trip to Italy – this year it is to Spain!!
If you are a Marathon Walker and finish the Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon on Saturday 1 May you have the chance to win this incredible trip!
You could win: Return flights for two to Madrid and seven night’s accommodation at charming characterful hotels while walking the The Camino de Santiago. |
 |
|
The Camino de Santiago journey of 708 kilometers, between Roncesvalles and Santiago de Compostela, is divided into five consecutive stages.
A Walker's World will offer the winner a choice of which stage they would like to do. |
The very first pilgrims’ way to Santiago de Compostela dates from the early Middle Ages when devotees coming from northern Europe traversed the Iberian Peninsula on their way to the holy shrine.
The Way Of St James, as it is also known, follows routes inland and partly on the coast in green Asturias, through picturesque fishing villages, hilly landscapes dotted with Pre-Romanesque churches – and combines cultural heritage, folklore and nature. This northern area of Spain is known as 'Green Spain'.
For more information and Trip Notes on The Camino de Santiago walk
or for other walks A Walker’s World has to offer.
We are extremely grateful to both A Walker’s World and the Tourist Office of Spain for providing this trip – dreams for many and reality for two!

Win a Trip to Lake Kawaguchi Marathon in Japan!
The Lake Kawaguchi-Nikkan Sports Marathon is on in Japan Sunday 28 November 2010. This marathon course also runs around a lake (Kawaguchi) and sits at the foothills of Mt Fuji – a spectacular place to visit, and an experience to remember and honour.
The prize includes return flights for two, 4 or 5 night’s accommodation (depending on transfers), meals & hospitality, & entry into the race.
Anyone can take part in the Lake Kawaguchi-Nikkan Sports Marathon 2010 so for more info please see the event’s website, or the Marathon-Photos.com summary (which details both our events which run around lakes!).
FYI - every year the top runner/s from the Lake Kawaguchi-Nikkan Sports Marathon compete in our marathon and it will be great to be able to send a Kiwi once again (last time approx 10 years ago).
This prize will be won and presented to an elite marathon runner, so for those who may be in the running – please keep the 28 November 2010 free!
We wish to thank Royal Brunei Airlines for supplying return flights for two, and of course, thanks to Lake Kawaguchi–Nikkan Sports Marathon for their generosity in providing the accommodation, meals and hospitality – and entry into the race – wow!
